West Bandung, February 9, 2026 — Kertawangi Village, Cisarua Sub-district, West Bandung Regency, hosted a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) Workshop aimed at formulating and presenting student community engagement programs based on local needs and village potential. The activity serves as a strategic step to support inclusive and sustainable rural development through collaboration between higher education institutions and local communities.

The workshop was held at the Kertawangi Village Hall and attended by the Head of Kertawangi Village and village officials, representatives of neighborhood and community associations, community leaders, as well as academic representatives from the university, including field supervisors and heads of study programs. The presence of various stakeholders reflected a strong commitment to participatory development and mutual partnership.

During the workshop, KKN students presented their proposed work programs across several sectors, including governance, socio-cultural development, and education. Each presentation was followed by an interactive discussion session, providing space for community members to offer feedback, suggestions, and adjustments to ensure that the programs align with real conditions and priorities of Kertawangi Village residents.
One of the key agendas of the workshop was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and the Government of

Kertawangi Village. This agreement represents a long-term commitment to cooperation in village development through education-based initiatives, community empowerment, and strengthening local capacity.
In the socio-cultural and education sector, KKN students introduced several flagship programs, including the Reading Corner Program to enhance children’s literacy, learning assistance programs for elementary school students, eco-spiritual writing activities designed to foster environmental awareness and spiritual values at an early age, the Evening Qur’an Recitation Program (Magrib Mengaji), and a young women empowerment program focusing on character building, self-confidence, and awareness of physical and mental health.
In his remarks, the Head of Kertawangi Village expressed appreciation and full support for the implementation of the KKN program in the village. He emphasized that the presence of KKN students plays an important role not only as program implementers but also as strategic partners in encouraging innovation and community empowerment.

“We warmly welcome and greatly appreciate the presence of KKN students in Kertawangi Village. The proposed programs are highly relevant to the needs of our community, particularly in education, social development, and the strengthening of youth character. We hope that this collaboration will continue in the future and bring tangible benefits to the progress of our village,” said the Head of Kertawangi Village.

Meanwhile, a representative from the university stated that the KKN program and workshop are part of the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, particularly in the area of community service. Through a participatory approach, students are expected to gain direct learning experiences from the community while contributing meaningfully to local development.
Through this workshop, Kertawangi Village has demonstrated strong social readiness and capacity to grow through collaboration between the community, village government, and educational institutions. This synergy is expected to support the realization of inclusive, sustainable, and locally based village development.
