Joint Samsat Operation in West Bandung Regency (KBB)
PADALARANG – In an effort to increase public awareness and compliance with motor vehicle tax obligations, the Regional Revenue Management Center (Samsat) of West Bandung Regency (KBB) held a Joint Tax Inspection Operation in the strategic area of the Padalarang Toll Intersection on Tuesday (April 28, 2026).
This activity is a concrete step by the local government to optimize regional original revenue (PAD) while also providing direct service convenience to the public. The operation involved collaboration among multiple institutions, including the Traffic Police Unit, Jasa Raharja, Bank BJB, and the Samsat KBB team.
Focus on Education and Service, Not Enforcement
The Head of the Regional Revenue Management Center of KBB, Dayli, emphasized that the operation is not solely focused on enforcement, but rather on education and service.
“Our main goal is to increase public awareness. We also provide convenience, where taxpayers can directly pay their outstanding dues on-site through mobile Samsat services,” he explained.
The approach is selective. Officers only stop vehicles identified in the system as having unpaid taxes, ensuring that traffic flow is not significantly disrupted.
The Head of Turjawali Unit, IPTU Adyas, added that drivers who are stopped will be directed to the Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) team.
“Those who are willing to pay immediately will be facilitated on-site. Meanwhile, those who are not yet able to settle their dues are asked to sign a statement of commitment to pay. For the time being, the SKKP document will be held by Bapenda,” he said.
He also stressed that tickets are only issued for serious and visible traffic violations, such as not having a driver’s license (SIM) or an expired vehicle registration (STNK).
First Day Results: Dozens of Vehicles Identified
During the first day of implementation, which lasted two hours from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a total of 51 vehicles were identified. From that number, several taxpayers immediately fulfilled their obligations on-site, with the following details:
Four-wheeled vehicles: 14 units
Two-wheeled vehicles: 1 unit
This achievement shows a positive public response to the convenience of the services provided.
Service Innovation: Easier and More Flexible
Dayli also stated that the government continues to innovate to simplify vehicle tax payment processes. One of the latest policies is no longer requiring the original ID card (KTP) of the first owner for annual tax payments, especially for vehicles that have not yet undergone ownership transfer.
However, for five-year tax payments or license plate renewal, people are still required to visit the main Samsat office due to the need for a physical vehicle inspection.
“We understand the various challenges in the field. Therefore, people should not hesitate to come to the Samsat office to find solutions together,” he added.
Routine and Ongoing Agenda
This joint operation is planned to become a monthly routine as part of a long-term strategy to improve tax compliance. For the initial phase, the activity is scheduled for three days:
Tuesday & Wednesday: Padalarang Toll Intersection
Thursday: Samsat KBB Office
With this operation, it is hoped that the public will become more aware of the importance of paying taxes on time—not only as a legal obligation but also as a real contribution to regional development.
This proactive step by Samsat KBB serves as an example of how public services can go hand in hand with law enforcement—humanistic, solution-oriented, and firm.
